As a result of the constant monitoring of the public Internet network, the Cybernetic Police Unit of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, detected citizen complaints that referred to the theft of accounts of users of the WhatsApp messaging application. .

During the data collection work, the virtual patrol and as a result of the attention to said citizen complaints, it was possible to obtain information about this type of scam, in which the objective of the cybercriminals is to obtain a real WhatsApp account and be able to impersonate the identity of the victim to obtain economic benefits through deposits through bank transfers.

Subsequently, the criminal can request access to your WhatsApp account at any time on another device other than yours, it is only necessary for him to download the application and enter your number, and if you do not have the appropriate security measures, he can easily enter and thus obtain personal information.
