A third of business initiatives on data and artificial intelligence fail, according to report

MADRID, Jan. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) -

A third of the initiatives that companies carry out related to data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) fail, according to a report prepared by the consulting firm Quint at European level.

87% of companies recognize that data analysis is of strategic importance and two out of three companies have a budget for data and AI projects, however the poor quality of the data used and the lack of talent and tools remain as unfinished business.

The Director of Data and AI at Quint, Andrés Contreras, has stressed that the data from the study, carried out among 150 medium-sized and large companies, show that these technologies are in periods of consolidation and are beginning to reap results.

In fact, 81% of the companies analyzed plan to increase their activities with this technology and 85% consider that they "well understand" the possibilities.

However, just over 10% of companies with up to 500 employees have more than ten data analysis specialists. If the size of the firm is multiplied by ten, the percentage is still less than 50%, since only four out of ten have more than ten employees for this branch.
