The Indra company will develop a new artificial intelligence system that will provide the Eurofighter of the Air ForOne of the most sophisticated combat planes on the planet, ”the company reported through a press release.
Specifically Indra is one of the main global technology and consulting companies, this is how the R&D “MP C16: Use of a system based on artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for predictive plane maintenance in C.16 Eurofighter ”, financed by the General Directorate of Armament and Material, at the proposal of the Air Force.
As stated in the same press release "Indra advances with this project in the digitalization of key defense systems for the future."In this way they indicated that this technology, "promoted within the framework of the BACSI project in collaboration with Albacete's aerial teacher, reinforces security, saves maintenance costs, extends the useful life of the platform and improves the availability of the fleet."
They recalled that the development of this system "began within the framework of the Sustainable and Intelligent Connected Base Project (BACSI) of the Air Force", and added that "it improves the maintenance of Eurofighter", opening a new path of artificial intelligenceIn these combat planes. The company "will test this solution in the field of support 4.0, which serves as a test zone to introduce more avant -garde technologies before taking them to critical operating areas."
They stressed that this system developed by INDRA "will allow to detect in advance the possibility of failure in different critical elements and verify that the aircraft is in perfect condition before each takeoff."In this way the intelligent maintenance of these combat aircraft "not only raises security, also saves costs and extends the useful life of each platform, ensuring maximum availability of the fleet," specified the press release.
Thus, large volumes of data collected by Eurofighter systems can be analyzed to process them with the aim of looking for any type of anomalous behavior.Likewise, this system "will record the exact conditions of the environment in which this anomaly has occurred and will classify the data to train the system, increasing its precision progressively."
They highlighted from Indra that this project "is aligned with the plans of the Armed Forces and the Air Force to advance their digital transformation to deal with new threats."Thus they stressed that the development of this system "is possible thanks to the cooperation of Indra with the staff of the Ministry of Defense and the air bases and the data collected for years by the Air and the Company."
They assured in the same press release that the implementation of this system focused on artificial intelligence "will mean a milestone, so far not explored, in the maintenance of aircraft in Spain."In the same way, it is a step forward in the application of the concept of support 4.0 in which this company works and that “the introduction of more avant -garde technologies to manage in an integral manner and with a degree of millimeter control the maintenance and logistics of thearmies ”.
Specifically, from the company, they stressed that the incorporation of this system "will allow much more agile armed forces, with greater capacity deployment and efficacy against the most advanced adversaries."This artificial intelligence system will also contribute to the development of the sustainable and intelligent connected air base, "a model that bets on more operational, efficient and sustainable bases thanks to the technological and digital revolution."
Digitization is reaching very quickly all global areas. This is a fact that urges the most advanced armies to address and contribute by an important transformation with the objective of adapting so as not to lose its superiority against the adversary.
In this sense, "Indra is pushing the borders of AI and the advances she has achieved together with universities and the Spanish armed forces have already been published in different first level scientific forums and magazines," the press release said. The company is also working “in the large European and national innovation and development programs that will mark the future of the defense: it is the national coordinator of the NGWS/FCAS, it is digitizing the 8 × 8 dragon vehicle, it has deployed some of the radars ofEarly alert and more powerful spatial surveillance in the world and works on the systems of control and control and situational cybercanscience of the future that will protect our continent, ”they said.
From its position as “leader in large programs, Indra works to be a tractor factor of the Spanish industry and ensure that it not only gains work volume, but also positions itself in those activities of greater added value and technological and digital content, inThose that are true growth, innovation and better quality and projection jobs, ”they concluded.
