The Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Region (FECOAM), together with the amopa, apoexpa and ASOPEX agri -food entities, is carrying out the Operational Group Artificial Intelligence Markets (markets), financed by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheriesof the Region of Murcia and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADER).
The objectives of the project, among other initiatives, are the promotion of a market analytical technological platform to help the best decision -making of the members of the operating group, as well as tools that allow better to know the markets in which theexporters
They also intend with this program to "acquire greater competitiveness in the market through updated pricing knowledge and avoid costs associated with scoring activities," they explain from Fecoam.Along with this, this operational group has the purpose that its partners can handle safe sales margins and achieve a growth of agricultural organizations for attraction of new associates, at the same time that the reduction of CO2 emissions is promoted by replacing activities replacingthat require displacements in vehicles by activities that are carried out through online 'software'.
As those responsible for the project explain, "we consider that the market will allow us to implement a system capable of predicting with great precision the price in the different European markets of various products with a daily update."Thus, they expect these actions to have an impact that achieves an increase in the competitiveness of Murcia agriculture in national and international markets and anticipation at market prices.
"This initiative will allow the generation of important savings to the associated Murcia agricultural organizations, regardless of scoring services and being able to handle safe sales margins and a growth of associated Murcia agricultural organizations as service providers," they say.
The entities involved in the markets thus bet on "innovation as an essential tool for the development of the agri -food sector, with a project aimed at facing needs in the rural environment of the Region of Murcia."

In the first phase, the tasks related to the analysis and study of the export process are carried out, parties involved and variables that affect the price and investigation of reliable data sources that can be used to infer final sales prices in thedifferent markets for each product and have frequent updates.
In addition, data will be analyzed through Python language to study correlations between variables and thus select those that have a real effect on the objective price or variable, processes to robotize will be schematized to obtain all the useful data of the selected sources and theAppropriate artificial intelligence algorithms for the data available to the objective variable.With all this, a provisional design of the command panels will be developed that will show the final data and the different correlations between selected parameters and that allow simulations with their variation to each associate.
"As a result of this first phase of consulting and research, the explanatory documents of engineering and system structure schemes, detailed budgets for the development and maintenance of the price platform are obtained."
In a second block, “the generation of a pilot or minimum viable product, MVP, that helps us to adjust the complete system to the real facts, using the historical prices that we will use as a test by training the AI algorithms, is proposed.To end with a trial period in which the results of the AI algorithms will have been tested with real market prices having marked the fundamental variables and giving us important information to adjust the system towards greater precision with iterative training processes ».
