The Secretary of Health, Alejandro Gómez, announced that since March 23, the vaccination process to people between 60 and 79 years, according to the availability of vaccines that are received for this purpose begins in Bogotá.
At the same time, the IPS that operate in the city began to schedule, in the more than 400 vaccination points that the capital has, over 75 years for the first dose.
"60 and 79 years of age who are institutionalized in any of the homes for the protection of the elderly, will receive from today the coronavirus vaccine. Similarly, people over 80 years will also continue the process ofVaccination to receive the second dose of the biological, "said the Secretary of Health.
For the application of the vaccine in this second stage, the population to immunize was divided into the following groups: first people will be vaccinated between 75 and 79 years of age;Subsequently, between 70 and 74, after 65 to 69 and, finally, between 60 and 64.
The population that is between these ages ranges must update the data in their EPS and wait for the schedule call in the more than 👉 400 vaccination points in Bogotá.
“Those over 80 who have not yet received their first dose can approach any vaccination point to start their immunization.80% of this population was already vaccinated with the first application of Syovac, ”said the Secretary of Health.
Gómez clarified that during the holiday last Monday, Bogotá received around 50,000 doses of Syovac vaccines for the vaccination of people between 75 and 79 years.In other words, the objective is that during these days, prior to Holy Week, the entire population between 75 and more years is vaccinated.
"In the city around 130,000 older people live. The goal is that before the start of Holy Week all people over 70 are vaccinated in Bogotá," said Gomez.
Similarly, the Secretary of Health said that the objective is to vaccinate the entire population over 60 years in Bogotá, before the end of April.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health continues to make epidemilogical fences and random samples in Transmilenio stations and in different areas of trade and agglomeration of Bogotá to make an optimal monitoring of virus behavior.
