COVID-19 cases among children have skyrocketed in Moscow, the main focus of the pandemic in Russia. In the last fifteen days the figure has gone from 2,000 to 28,000 infections of minors per week.
The Moscow Department of Health has indicated that the number of hospitalizations of minors for this disease has also increased. In the last two weeks this income has multiplied by ten, reaching 120 children in one day.
Nearly half of these hospitalized children correspond to transfers from other medical centers where they were infected while receiving treatment for other diseases. For this reason, from Health they have explained that to reduce the number of infections among the most vulnerable minors, they are going to "suspend for three weeks the scheduled admissions in pediatric hospitals."
