In order to recreate the option we need, at Xiaomi we can get the desired option together with MIUI. We just need to access the Security app that comes or default in all Mi, Redmi and Poco terminals, which adds many possibilities and among them this great utility.
In the same way that we have seen it in Xiaomi, the manufacturer Huawei also integrates the option to program the switching on of the mobile before the alarm sounds, even if the phone is turned off.
Here we will also have to do the two things separately, first setting the alarm and then setting the time to turn on the smartphone a few minutes earlier.
And as we have seen in the previous two Asian smartphone brands, ColorOS (OPPO's customization layer) is not far behind in this regard. Within their operating system they add the same option with which we can decide when only the terminal will start automatically. Therefore, to adjust this feature, we must follow the following steps:
Unfortunately for everyone else, there are no more manufacturers that have established a tool to turn the phone on or off at a certain time and be able to use it together with the alarm. This is partly because Android doesn't offer this option. And, therefore, the large number of mobiles with the same added options have not been encouraged to use it. And we can't forget Apple's smartphones, in this case, iPhones don't offer this type of functionality within their operating system either.
In other cases like Samsung, the option was previously present but was removed with the arrival of One UI to simplify options. In addition, the smartphones of the South Korean firm have a function feature, which does allow us to program them to restart within Settings> General administration> Reset> Automatic restart. However, it will be of little use in this case, since we could consider it as a technique to improve the performance of the terminal.
Although battery consumption is reduced to a minimum, when we set a time to turn the mobile on or off, a part of the software stays active to detect when it coincides with the time set by the intention RTC (Real Time Clock), which helps the smartphone to not lose track of time even if it is completely turned off for hours or days.
Meanwhile, if we do not have any time set within the terminal settings, the software may remain in a greater battery saving state. Basically, because it doesn't need any information other than to turn on when the time comes. The consumption of this section is minimal and could mean just 1% of the battery, but this adds to the decision of the manufacturers. That is why not all brands are encouraged to opt to include this tool within their devices.
Although the solution that allows us to turn off the smartphone and not sound again until the programmed alarm can be ideal, we would not have to try to make it work with the mobile turned off if we did not have the need to turn off the device.
That is why, on Android and iOS, there are alternative options that allow us to continue with the phone on, without other notifications or sounds bothering us until the alarm sounds and we are going to show you how you can use them. In this way, you will save yourself the fact of turning off the smartphone and having to buy the classic alarm clock.
The iOS operating system offers us the possibility of establishing the do not disturb mode with which we can execute an automatic programming. In this way, when the time comes to rest, no one can interrupt our sleep or only the people who are really important to us. This can be set from Settings> Concentration modes> Do not disturb or we can activate it from the control panel when we need it manually.
With the do not disturb mode activated we will be allowing the mobile alarms to sound when the time is right but, however, no other notification or unwanted call will wake us from our sleep. Its customization options go further and even emit that if a repeated call rings, it is important.
In the same way as on iPhones, Android mobiles, in this case regardless of the customization layer or brand, offer us quick access to do not disturb mode in the direct settings panel. You just have to touch it to activate it or go to Settings > Sound > Do not disturb, to ensure that nothing and nobody bothers us except the phone alarm.
It will not be the same as turning off the smartphone until the exact time, but it will offer us the same or even better result, given that in an emergency our favorite contacts or repeated calls will be able to alert us to what is happening. Of course, we cannot forget to adjust the section of What can interrupt you with the do not disturb mode. Within this section, we must give the exception to this smartphone tool.
For those who do not want to be located under any circumstances, both on Android and iOS, we have the airplane mode available with which we can make the mobile alarm sound, but it is not being turned off. This cannot be programmed, but we can activate it when we go to sleep and remove it once it has sounded. In this way, we make sure that we will not receive any calls, while this smartphone tool will work without problems.
