The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) warned this Friday that infrastructure problems in some educational centers made it impossible to qualify them as voting centers for the upcoming presidential elections on February 6.
For this reason, the TSE invited the public to ascertain what their electoral precinct will be for that Sunday, even if they have cast their vote in the same place all their lives.
For these purposes, the electoral body has already enabled four platforms where voters can learn or confirm the information.
The TSE recalled that given the health protocols and the historical number of candidates, the traditional solemn act must be delayed 45 minutes.
The first is the TSE website, where the user will find a banner that says "Where to vote?". There you must enter the ID number to know your voting center, its location and the number of your vote receiving board and voter.
The system is also enabled for those Costa Ricans registered and who live outside of Costa Rica.
The second platform is the 1020 telephone line, which is free and just by typing in the ID number, followed by the # key, a recording will indicate all the information about the electoral precinct.
Another possibility is by text message to the number 1020 , to which you must also send your ID number.
While in 1998 the number of polling stations without party representation was 0, for these upcoming elections in 596 polling stations no group will have supporters.
The 800 Elector telephone line (800-353-2867) was also enabled, where you can get electoral information, questions about the process and also file complaints.
This line will even be enabled on the election weekend itself with special hours: Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5 from 8 am to 8 pm and Sunday, February 6 (Election Day) at extended hours from 5:30 a.m. am to 8 pm
Finally, voters can download the #VotanteInformadocr mobile application to find out their polling place and other relevant information about the upcoming elections.
