First Cuban cell phone and other high -tech items

The entry almost into the final stage of development of the first Cuban cell phone prototype, made up of an architecture designed for the conditions of our country, was announced by the Industrial Company for Information Technology, Communications and Electronics (give me).

René Cano Díaz, general director of Gedeme, told the Radio Rebelde station that the assembly process is scheduled to begin by the end of this month, as part of a pilot test with 6,000 units.

He specified that, in this first stage, said prototype will not come out with its own operating system, but in a second phase it will have one developed jointly with the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI).
