The health pass began to be used in the country for massive events on January 1, 2022 and must be carried by everyone over 13 years of age, with the aim of continuing to promote vaccination against the coronavirus.

However, to obtain the health pass, there is a trick that many do not know, and it has to do with updating the Cuidar App.

The Cuidar app is a platform enabled in 2020 during the quarantine, where certificates could be downloaded to circulate and go on vacation. Now, for the health pass, the application must be deleted from the mobile device, and reinstalled to have the latest version 3.6.

Once the new version of the Cuidar app has been downloaded to the cell phone, to download the health pass you have to press the "enter" button and "create the account".

Registration in Caring

To download the health pass and keep it on the cell phone, the user can register in two ways: by scanning the DNI or filling in the data manually.

If you opt for the first option, you have to bring the document to the phone with the barcode in front and give the app permissions so that it can access the camera.

Health pass: it is important to update the Cuidar app.

Once the account was created, the user will receive an email to activate it. This mail must be searched in the message box and click on the green button to enable it.

When entering the account, the application will request to carry out the self-test in which a series of questions about symptoms will have to be answered. Once the questionnaire is completed, you will be able to access the menu where the health information, the circulation certificate and the tourism certificate will be available.

When entering health information, you can see the health pass. It shows the name and surname of the person, ID number, vaccination schedule, date of application of the last dose, and type of vaccine. In addition, it indicates if the person had a Covid-19 test in the last 48 hours and its result.

When is the health pass needed?

According to the information provided by the national government, the health pass will be needed for various public and massive events. Among them stand out:

One of the questions that is asked is what happens to the health pass in case of testing positive for Covid.

From the Ministry of Health of the Nation they reported that if the self-diagnosis of the application shows any symptom compatible with Covid-19 or if the person is notified in the National Health Surveillance System as an active case of coronavirus, the screen will be blocked. the Cuidar application without allowing access to any other screen or certificate or health pass until this condition is modified, regardless of having the complete vaccination schedule.

Sanitary pass requirements

The creation of the health pass is part of a measure published in the Official Gazette through administrative decision 1198, signed by the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.

The health pass requires the complete vaccination schedule.

The text establishes that “any person over the age of 13 who carries out defined activities of high epidemiological and health risk must prove that they have a complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19.”

To do this, you must display the health certificate or pass "at the request of public or private personnel designated for verification."

The vaccination schedule "must have been completed at least 14 days before attending the activity or event." It must be exhibited at the request of public or private personnel designated for its verification and at the time prior to accessing the entrance of the event or activity, with the health pass.

Complications with the App

People who could not access the Cuidar application to have the health pass, as long as they are not suffering from the disease, may request the vaccination certificate against Covid-19 from the competent jurisdictional authority in which the applied and notified doses are recorded. to the Nominalized Federal Vaccination Registry (NOMIVAC).

The implementation of the health pass is part of the strategy of "continuing to promote vaccination" against the coronavirus and to ensure that activities with the highest epidemiological risk "are safer with the assistance of people" who are immunized, the Government stressed.

In some situations, it may be that the person is not authorized for the activities of the pass. This happens if you do not have full vaccination, you are having the disease or you present symptoms compatible with covid-19.

If you are a confirmed case of covid-19, the Cuidar application will be blocked until the isolation period ends and the health pass cannot be obtained.

It must be taken into account that the information may take a few hours to update after the disease has passed, a reason that will also block the health pass.

Complete vaccination schedule

Currently, the vaccination schedule, necessary for the sanitary pass, is complete when at least 14 days have passed since you applied the second dose or the single dose (single-dose vaccines).

Each province determines how to proceed to have access to vaccination and the health pass, for example, if you have to take a shift or you can present yourself directly.

If you were vaccinated outside the country, you will first have to complete the affidavit on the Mi Argentina website with the details of your vaccination abroad. That information will then appear in the "Health Information" section of your Caring app. And so the health pass will be removed.

To know if I have the complete vaccination schedule, it is important to know which are the vaccines that are applied in the country and how to operate with each of them, in order to have the health pass.

Difference between health pass and vaccination certificate

The Cuidar app was developed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Among its functions, it enables the self-diagnosis of symptoms, provides assistance and recommendations about the disease, so the health pass integrates all the relevant information of each person before Covid-19.

In the Cuidar app you can view the information on the doses applied in Argentina that are registered in the registration system of applied doses (NOMIVAC) and those doses that have been received abroad, provided that they have been declared voluntarily through the sworn statement in My Argentina. This way you can get the health pass.

In order to generate access for citizens to their vaccination certificate against Covid-19, the vaccination certificate was created in the "My Documents" and "My Health" section of My Argentina, where the information available in the NOMIVAC system.

It is important when thinking about processing a health pass, to know what happens with a foreign tourist or a non-resident in Argentina.

These people will not be able to have the health pass and must prove their vaccination status with the certificate issued by the country where they have been vaccinated.

The Covid in Argentina today

In the context of the increase in covid infections, and given the need to have a health pass to leave, the specialists indicated that there is an increase in the occupancy of beds.

Faced with this situation, experts assure that "what is happening is to worry and to greatly stimulate vaccination. Of the patients with Covid who are admitted, two thirds require a respirator. A smaller proportion than in previous waves, but it is high. This makes more important the sanitary pass.

The fact is that a person who has not been vaccinated or has only one dose or, to a lesser extent, both, is more likely to die than someone who received all three doses. Among the unvaccinated, those with comorbidities die more.

At the same time, beyond the health pass, it is more likely that, with two doses, those who are over 60 years of age, have diabetes, hypertension or obesity, have a chronic respiratory disease or are immunosuppressed are more likely to be at risk.

And men, more than women, in this wave continue to show greater complications. Age, as well as non-vaccination, once again gained strength as a risk factor. At the country level, more than 80% of the deceased are over 60.

The profile of internees, meanwhile, has an average of 57 years and 80% of serious cases have comorbidities. The mortality rate in the Province is 2.1%, and 1.8% in the City. From both jurisdictions they admitted to this newspaper that they did not have detailed data on the deceased. Details are lacking according to age, vaccination status or comorbidities.

But the Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, gave a key fact that marks the importance of vaccination: "65% of those admitted to intensive care are not vaccinated." Along the same lines, but more specifically, his Buenos Aires counterpart, Nicolás Kreplak, estimated that "4 out of 5 deaths from coronavirus are in the unvaccinated."

In the absence of national data that discriminates the profile of deceased and interned in this third wave, other important jurisdictions also provide statistics to outline the current situation.

In Córdoba, 52% of hospitalized patients did not start the vaccination schedule. In addition, 8% have a single dose and 16% did not receive the third, despite the fact that they were already fit. They are over 65 years old and have comorbidities. No more young or obese people are reported, as happened in June and July.

In Santa Fe, between 70% and 80% of internees are not vaccinated. There have been 24 deaths from Covid so far this year. One was a 35-day-old baby of unvaccinated parents; six had no dose, 11 had two doses, and another six had all three.

70% of the deceased were over 60 years old. As for the risk factors, many had more than two and, unlike what happens in Córdoba with boarding schools, the majority of those who died in 2022 were obese.

As for ages and comorbidities, there are no news regarding the other waves. But one piece of information that does stand out now is that pediatric intensive care hospitalization used to be almost nil and today it represents 10%.
