A 38-year-old man from Viveiro, from Escourido (Covas), died of electrocution in Madrid, where he lived, when the mobile phone that he had plugged in fell into the water in the bathtub.
Santi Otero, known in A Mariña for his football career in several teams, was found by his partner when he returned from work on Wednesday morning, inside the bathtub, in the apartment where he lived, at number 125 of the avenue From Portugal. He was in the water, with the mobile phone and the cable plugged into the network, so the main hypothesis being considered to explain what happened is that he died of electrocution. It so happens that the victim had a burn on his chest, on which he had the mobile phone.

Santi Otero's partner called 112 alerting that he had found him unconscious in the bathtub and that he was not responding. The emergency teams, upon reaching the floor, could only certify death. It is estimated that he had been dead between eight and ten hours at the time.
A psychologist went to the apartment to attend to the deceased Viveiro's partner who, according to the sources consulted, had been living outside of Viveiro for some time. The National Police has opened an investigation to try to clarify what happened.
