New design of vaccination certificate against covid-19 on January 31

The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, will urge the Municipality of Quito so that in all places where the physical vaccination card is required, this document is no longer requested, but the digital vaccination certificate. The file contains a QR code with all the information about immunization against covid-19.

Garzón made the announcement on January 26, 2022 and explained that the measure will help avoid more complaints regarding the sale of false vaccination cards that have emerged in recent days.

In addition, she announced that as of Monday, January 31, the Ministry of Health will have a new design for the vaccination certificate available. The document will have a smaller version that will be easier to load on the cell phone or print it, if desired, and with the QR code that cannot be forged.

“The moment you access from any cell phone, it can read that code. All the information that is stored in the Ministry of Public Health is displayed, she stressed.
