San Jose, January 28, 2022 (Ageco). The Costa Rican Gerontological Association (Ageco), celebrates that in Costa Rica it is already possible to obtain tax benefits for hiring new workers over 45 years of age.
On October 26, 37 deputies approved the bill that reduces financial burdens on employers who encourage hiring, this being a strategy for economic reactivation due to the crisis generated by the pandemic before Covid 19 where there were a lot of layoffs.
The fiscal incentive is achieved with the reduction of the payment made by the employers for salary and bonus and with the reduction in the payment of income tax with the following rules:
It is necessary for leaders and managers of human resources to know how to generate ideal labor inclusion conditions to take advantage of the talent of this population.
“Older people have soft skills highly sought after by organizations, for example, peaceful resolution of conflicts, emotional intelligence and high commitment to the quality of work. Their great plus is experience and they are capable of acquiring new knowledge to achieve business objectives; It should be clarified that it is false that they do not handle technology, they do and they are constantly learning, just as it happens to all of us in this area, being so changing”, says Sofía Gamboa Chaverri, coordinator of Sigo Vigente +45.
The greatest human talent has shown great loyalty to the place of work, is very stable and strives to deliver the expected results, since it is well aware that it is not so easy to get job options and, like most people, they have within your dreams reach retirement.
Despite the fact that work is a protected right for all people, currently, 128 thousand people over 45 years of age are unemployed. According to INEC projections, in less than 30 years, almost 48% of the population will be over 45, that is, 1,119,993 more people than the figures currently reported.
Organizations interested in recruiting people over 45 years of age can be part of the Network of Employer Companies +45 of Sigo Vigente and receive training from Ageco.
