The president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, confirmed that the measures announced yesterday by the clinical committee regarding the extension of the hours of all bars that serve dinner will be applied from tonight. Therefore, the closing time will be at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, and therefore a 'ghost hour' between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. is ruled out.
The clinical committee decided yesterday to match the closing hours of restaurants and bars, as long as they serve dinner, regardless of the type of license. These premises will also be required to have a device that measures the amount of CO2 in the environment.
As for the capacity, they will continue as before, with a maximum of 50% inside the premises and 75% on the terrace. The number of diners will continue to be a maximum of 4 inside and 6 outside.
These new measures have been demanded for weeks by the hospitality sector, which understood that premises should have the same closing time even if they had different licences. The improvement in the incidence data of the coronavirus has made this decision possible.
