With Carlos Martínez, journalist and one of the four founders of Suite Gaming, a Valencian agency born to become a benchmark in the field of streaming communication and eSports (electronic sports), we analyze a context still unknown to millions of people and at that others still associate with negative terms. Let's dive into all this freed from prejudices and clichés.
QUESTION: Let's start with the basics Carlos, what is Suite Gaming?
ANSWER: Suite Gaming is the path that we open to people towards a life that can be professional in the world of eSports and in the world of streaming in general. We initially focused on the world of eSports, but people like us who want to open a channel to do live broadcasts or have a journalism, film or whatever project they want, we help them to have that professional touch.
We talk about helping with the logo, or advice so that people can understand how to use this type of platform such as social networks. In short, people who believe they have the opportunity to make the leap, like soccer players, receive calls from agents or seek the possibility of changing teams and making the leap to a higher category, because we also help that promotion. to reach a higher category.

Q: With Suite Gaming, are we talking about whether you are going to focus only on the communication and promotion side, or are you also going to enter the competitive aspect by forming an eSports team?
A: At the moment we seek to be that communication team for people or teams that seek to make that leap. Now it seems that it is becoming more fashionable in recent years because people want to start making money from this, but we are not looking for those people who only think about making money from the beginning. We are going to explain that this is not about standing in front of a camera with a logo and you are going to start earning money.
Right now you have to try to spice up your entire channel, give it that professional touch and that's where we believe we can make a difference.
Q: Now everyone has seen the rise of people like Ibai Llanos on Twitch and other platforms, and many have gone mad for the 'gold'.
A: It's like in sports, where there is only one Leo Messi or one Cristiano, there is only one Jordan or Gasol, but you can use them as a mirror. Now everyone who starts in this wants to be Ibai, but do they want to be Ibai for what Ibai is or do they want to imitate him for his money and what the streamers generate?
What we are trying to convey is that there can be a professional life in this game and virtual entertainment, but obviously we cannot go from 0 to 100. This is a path like that of Ibai, which has now even opened up to a world where He has been able to ring the bells with Ramón García, being Ramón García the one who has looked for him, and not the other way around.
Q: How much negative prejudice and ignorance is there still about everything that streamers, eSports, etc. generate, move and suppose?
A: You have to try to see it naturally, what happens is that in Spain when something new arrives they try to treat it with rejection and even video games for people of our generation, already in their 30s, continue to be frowned upon. You have to try to convey that there is a structure behind it, just like going to the football federation's website and finding the classification of any league, because here there are also competitions where people sign up and play.
This is a world where we are always left with the big headlines, but there is much that is not seen and there are competitions for just friends, there is a world behind the most media that is where we want to enter. There are people who play and want to take the leap, because we advise them when it comes to finding competitions that are better or worse for the specific player.
Q: Can anyone be part of Suite Gaming, or do they need to already have a certain competitive and economic level?
A: We adapt to everyone, to the personal situation of each one. We work with budgets according to the person and their needs, and we offer a range of services from which you can choose from 1 to 4, all included, and we also advise on what each person needs. And it is that some can make content that does not need to be transferred to YouTube, but it is necessary to transfer it to TikTok.
The point is not to see yourself alone in this world, to know that there are people who can support you. With us we have journalists, audiovisual communicators and video editing experts as well as marketing people, we can help when it comes to working with social networks and creating the player's own brand. To be a brand with your name playing FIFA, 2K, Fortnite, Valorant... The idea is that those people who play and have that time to invest a few hours can make a profit, and to make a profit they have to rely on something like Suite Gaming for take that jump
Q: Will we be able to see Suite Gaming at certain industry events?
A: The idea is to work with gamers, streamers and teams that need it, we also want to make the brand known and that means organizing events. They are trying to consolidate several gaming venues, and that is where we have to build bridges to organize events. If a person wants to make the leap, why not support him too so that people can see how he plays live? That he not only stay on the stream, and that possible teams can also meet him.
We are not a team yet, although we do not rule out that possibility as well, and that through Suite Gaming the client reaches a team that can support him even more.
Q: You are a Valencian agency but with this social media and internet thing, which is for everyone, I understand that you have no borders.
A: We have already had contact with a person from Burgos who wants to make the leap to the world of streaming and has asked us for advice, and through Zoom, telephone and others everything is worked remotely. He has asked us to learn how to use remote streaming programs, and of course Suite Gaming is open to anyone who wants to get in touch with us.
We like to boast of being a Valencian agency but we are open to anyone from Spain, South America and from all over the world in general.
Q: Do you think projects like this can give more confidence to all those who watch and are involved in streaming and eSports but without knowing very well what the next step is, or if they will do it safely?
A: What happens with sports or electronic entertainment is that whenever there is something new, it is seen with a certain rejection, searching the world of video games for that addiction and others, but this is not wasting time, it is a I work and people who want to do this have to train and that in the world of gaming is playing. Here you are not throwing your life away if you are doing it with the aim of reaching a team or taking the leap.
Not by picking up the console and starting to play they are going to sign you and you are going to be a gamer earning prestige and money, you have to be clear about that, but above all you have to try to re-educate people who see it with a certain negativism and do not understand money that moves all this. In fact, there are people on Twitch who pay people to watch them play, giving them access to a lot more exclusive content from their favorite streamers.
Q: Is the battle to convince public opinion, today's fathers and mothers, that their sons and daughters, if they do it well and with the right help, can find a career here like any other? With its pros and cons, of course, as in all jobs.
A: We are used to the education received that this is about studying, looking for a job and buying a house before 30, but the situation now is not ideal. Luckily through leisure it is easy to be able to take a little jump and get in front of a camera is simple, the complicated thing is to be differential.
You don't have to train 24 hours a day, in fact there are streamers who work in the morning and stream in the afternoon, and they can live comfortably from it. If you're good at video games, you're good and on top of that you believe that now there is a way where you can turn your leisure into a way of life, why can't you do it?
Q: And best of all, this field has no age limit.
A: It went viral this past Christmas as a family gave his father, who was the streamer, a Play 5, and the man was already in his 40s. I play video games with people older than me, we like to play and it's a matter of there being people who discover and feel like this world, and another who sees it as standing in front of a screen.
This is for taste, I prefer to have a command in my hands and decide what is going to happen or at least try, to watch a series. I'm not a big fan of series or movies, I'm bored of being in front of a screen without having a controller in my hands.
Q: Nowadays it seems that everyone, and when I say everyone I am also talking about large sports communication groups for example, seek to be on social networks and other platforms where some streamers are becoming very famous and rich. It seems that you have to be there, or you are not up to date.
A: Everyone wants to be on Twitch, it also happens with YouTube that before everyone had to be there, and even the radios have their broadcast and have made their investment even though few people see you later compared to the big names in the industry . Everyone has gone there because they think it's the fastest way to make a profit, when the reality is that, as long as Twitch or the gaming/streaming world continues to be seen as a quick option to make money whatever you do, I think this It will be a misconception when it comes to making a profit.
If I set up Suite Gaming and I think I'm going to make the most of it from the second week I'm going to have a problem, this is a long road and people don't understand that this has a process and you need a good technical team and so on. A certain professionalism.
Q: Just what you want to offer people with Suite Gaming, reaching out with a point of professionalism and knowledge to take streamers to the next level.
A: In the end, today it is very easy to have a powerful computer and a good camera, but what is missing is knowing how to walk. With a small and logical investment, at Suite Gaming we support all those who want to take that leap.
There are all kinds of options and we are open to listening to anyone who wants to start, who wants to professionalize their channel if they are already on Twitch or simply already a level streamer and need help in the video editing type.
Q: Where can you be found?
A: We are on Instagram, on Twitter and on the Suite Gaming website where you can get in touch with us. We also have a Twitch channel that we will open in a couple of weeks and where we will do live streams, I will have the possibility to play because my other colleagues are a bit lame in that sense (laughs).
There you can find us, and of course also through email.
