Millions of Internet users will be affected this Thursday by a ‘’ blackout ’’ that will affect their electronic devices such as cell phones and computers because their authentication certificates expire.
These certificates expire this Thursday, September 30 and also affect smart televisions and playstation games, according to the BBC chain.
Authentication certificates serve to validate the connection between a device and the Internet server and ensure that the connections are encrypted, so those affected devices will be obsolete and will not be able to connect to the network of networks.

The blackout will affect old devices.
The devices that will see their authentication certificates are cell phones and tablets with Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 or previous versions, iphone and iPad equipment with iOS 9 or previous versions and Apple devices with macos10.12.0 or with macOS prior to 2016.

It also includes the PlayStation 3 with firmware 5 version.00 or previous, Nintendo 3DS, BlackBerry phones with a previous version of 10.3.3 and teams with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or previous versions.
Most users will not be affected by the blackout this Thursday.
