The ecosystem of entrepreneurs and startups in Peru, as well as in the entire region, faces -even before the pandemic- the difficulty of obtaining capital . It is with this premise that Unicorn Hunters was born, the business series whose mission is to democratize access to opportunities for both entrepreneurs and investors.

“ Only 4% of the venture capital goes to Latina entrepreneurs ,” Silvina Moschini, executive producer of Unicorn Hunters and CEO of TransparentBusiness, a company owned by Silvina herself that also managed to scale through crowdfunding, explains to El Comercio. “If it worked for us, we thought there were other companies that could do it. We think that if we create a high-quality show and add a platform that democratizes access to investment opportunities, we could achieve it”, she added.

Thus, in May 2021, the first Unicorn Hunters program premiered. The show is produced by US producer Craig Plestis of Smart Dog Media (The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer, Celebrity Show Off). Poised to challenge the most popular shows, the new series showcases private businesses seeking to become unicorns and achieve a $1 billion valuation while, in parallel, bringing together consumers and businesses around the world to help finance these start-ups by joining the members club.

In the show, entrepreneurs in search of reaching the coveted mark of one billion dollars, present their idea to the world and to the "Circle of Money". This panel is made up of technology and innovation referents such as Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple), Rosie Rios (former treasurer of the United States), Lance Bass (artist and investor), Moe Vela (former managing director of Joe Biden ), Silvina Moschini (CEO of SheWorks!) and Alex Konanykhin (CEO of TransparentBusiness). Thus, these entrepreneurs, personalities and business leaders are the ones who will debate whether to invest in these companies, while at the same time the viewers will be able to do so from Unicorn Hunters.

For the first chapter that premiered this 2022, celebrity Chris Diamantopoulos (social entrepreneur and actor in Silicon Valley, HBO series) and John Bercow (former speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom) joined the panel as new members. .

This chapter presented Vastmindz, the initiative that seeks to transform common technological devices into comprehensive health detection tools using artificial intelligence. Through its technology, the company has the opportunity to positively impact people's lives by empowering them to better understand their health status.

To date, Vastmindz has raised $2 million and is seeking $10 million in capital to scale its engineering team, massively onboard new customers, and accelerate the development of new product lines to support different industries, including pet care industry.

Today the series is available now on UnicornHunters.com with parallel distribution on Binge Networks, LinkedIn Broadcast, Facebook Video, YouTube and Vimeo. According to Silvina Moschini, it will be sought for the program to reach more open signal channels during 2022. Likewise, this year there will be a commitment to having the largest Peruvian entrepreneurs in the program.

“Our main objective is to reach them: Peruvian entrepreneurs with international businesses that can scale so that they can become billion-dollar businesses. We are not going to have a limited show in Latin America, because we want the show to be global and that Peruvian entrepreneurs are fighting for their initiatives with others in the world against references such as Steve Wozniak , "added Silvina.
